As lady bosses and mompreneurs, we sometimes forget to take a break and just pamper ourselves. This DIY home pedicure will have you feeling relaxed and pampered. So grab a glass of wine and take the break you deserve, and treat yo self!
What You’ll Need:
- Tub or basin filled with very warm water
- 1-2 cups Epsom salt
- Scented Oil (optional)
- Cuticle oil
- Nail polish & polish remover
- Nail clippers
- Nail file
- Pumice stone, Sugar or foot file
- Cotton balls
- Towel
- Lotion
Add 1-2 cups of Epsom salts and a few drops of your favorite scented oil to the water. Epsom salts will help loosen the dead skin for easy removal
Rub cuticle oil (substitute olive or baby oil if needed) into your cuticles before soaking.
Soak feet until water cools.
Pat (don’t rub!) your feet with a towel and allow to air dry.
Push back cuticles with a cuticle stick.
Tip – Don’t cut cuticles – Only trim hangnails or ragged cuticles on the side. Cutting them the wrong way can cause damage.
Exfoliate with sugar using a circular motion. After exfoliating, scrub rough spots and calluses with a pumice stone or foot file.
Soak exfoliated feet for another 5 minutes, then pat dry with towel.
Use a non-greasy lotion to moisturize your hands and feet.
Remove any oil and lotion residue on your nails with a non-acetone nail polish remover.
Tip – Nail polish will not last if there’s any oil residue on your nails.
Apply Base coat, two layers of polish and top coat, allowing the polish to dry between coats.
What do you do to relax and treat yourself?
