You’ve been blogging for a very long time, yet it seems that no knows if your blog exists.
You’re often dreaming of the day you’ll experience a traffic surge on your blog.
But the problem is, how do you make this a reality? What are you going to do to turn your blog from “OH shit” to “Thank you Jesus”?
If any of these sounds familiar then, read on.
You may have heard it time and again that targeted blog traffic is the engine room of your blogging and financial success online. If your desire is to reach out to a vast audience, make huge sales, you must be prepared to drive traffic to your blog.
If you are not getting the right inflow of search engine traffic, referred traffic or direct traffic, you will hardly meet your target.
As much as bloggers, internet marketers, and website owners would love to boost their traffic, there are some often overlooked tips for increasing traffic to your blog.
Tips for Increasing Traffic to Your Blog Fast
You already know you need more traffic and more sales. But your question now is, how do I really increase traffic to my site?

Make Use of Videos
You may have noticed that a lot of people are already tired of clicking on links to digital content and are rooting for videos instead. Why not take advantage of this trend to present your content before a larger community of hungry people waiting to enjoy video contents?
Video content is a hidden potential that can explode your blog traffic. You don’t need videos that run into several hours, you only need a few seconds or minutes to tell your potential viewers what your site/content is all about. As a rule of thumb, you must be creative. It is your creativity that would attract them and make them want to visit your site. You can pull a lot of traffic to your blog if you get this right.
After creating your videos, upload them to sites like Youtube, Vimeo, Hulu, DailyMotion, Twitch, Metacafe, LiveLeak, Ustream and Vine. When the videos are ready, submit them manually or use syndication software like Video Wildfire, Traffic Geyser, Tube Mogul, Hey! Spread, Video Upload Pro, or Magic Submitter to submit them to the aforementioned sites and then wait for results to start streaming in.

Blog Commenting
A lot of bloggers are either neglecting this or simply doing it wrongly. Blog commenting has the potential to send you tons of traffic if done on quality sites, especially on related niche sites. I have tested this and it has practically worked for me.
For you to be able to get real traffic from blog commenting, make sure you are leaving quality, constructive and valuable comments. This will motivate people who read such comments into paying a visit to your site.
Comments like “good stuff, I enjoyed it” won’t get you anything. You must be able to write highly relevant and engaging comments before you can see any outcome.
The more you leave thoughtful comments on a site, the more the owner notices you and as time goes on, he will become familiar with you and this in turn will enable you to connect with him.

Podcasts
You can arrange some of your blog contents in series and create audio podcasts on them. Upload the podcasts to sites like Amazon S3, Archive.org, Podomatic, PodBean, Ourmedia.org, Libsyn and Buzzsprout. A lot of people who do not have the time to read your content can download the podcast and listen to them at their leisure time. The quality of your podcast will attract traffic to your blog in the long run.

Quality Content
Content, they say, is king. For me, I would rather say that quality content is king. For your content to attract quality traffic, you must pay attention to two important aspects – post title and the body of the content. The first thing that makes people fall in love with your content is the attractive title. A mastery of the art of writing quality and lovely titles puts you in a better position to get people to your blog.
The body of the post should be highly informative, talk about what the reader would love to know, provide an answer to a problem, make relevant references where required, be free from grammatical errors, have minimum links to other posts on your site, contain less affiliate links, etc.
People easily read and share quality contents with their friends. And because they recommend your content to their friends, you are rest assured that those friends would also visit your site. What this eventually translates to is more traffic for the blog. If you neglect the quality of your content, some people would visit your blog but would never stay or have a repeat visit even if you are churning out attractive titles for your posts.
Social Media
This is another often overlooked area when it comes to increasing traffic to your blog. Ask yourself this simple question: Does my blog have a fan page on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Google+, Instagram, Linkedin and other top social media networks?
You may think it doesn’t matter having a presence on social media or even see it as a waste of time. But the experts aren’t wrong here.
Top bloggers like Zac Johnson, John Chow, Jeremy Shoemaker, Matthew Woodward, Harleena Singh, Neil Patel, Jon Morrow, Harsh Agrawal, Jane Sheeba, Chiara Ferragni, Kristina Bazan, Pat Flynn, Andrew Sullivan, Darren Rowse and a host of others have a presence on the social media.

Hi Theodore, you really nailed it. Driving blog traffic is no easy task. But everything requires some level of smartness. It pays to know what is trending and how to take advantage of it.
If people are settling for videos, then provide them with quality videos that easily entice them into visiting your blog.
People are really busy these days. Doing a podcast makes it easy to reach such people who easily download your materials and listen to them at their convenient time.
Constructive and valuable blog comments still do some magic in driving traffic. I get a lot of traffic from the comments I leave on other people’s blogs and I don’t intend to stop soon.
